Earth’s Core Model
This project is a great way to provide a visual demonstration of the different layers inside the earth. Children can improve their modelling and co-ordination skills by creating the multi-layered ball of clay, and once it’s dry it can be cut into two pieces to reveal the effect inside
What you'll need
Top Tip
The clay bonds together quite quickly so roll out each layer before wrapping it around the clay ball to ensure you have enough to cover it, otherwise as soon as you put them together they will bond, making it difficult to separate the colours if you need to.
