How to Make

  1. Stick some strips of glittery tape onto a paper cup to make a stripey pattern. Stick gems between the tape to add some more decoration.
  2. To make a tassel, unravel about a metre length from a ball of coloured wool. Hold your fingers out flat, then start winding the end of wool around them. Keep the wool attached to the ball while you do this. After 10 loops, slide the wool off your fingers and cut the end. Thread a 20cm piece of wool through the top of the loops and tie a knot; this piece of wool keeps the loops tied together and can be used to hang the finished tassel. Tie a short piece of ribbon around the top of the loops to make the tassel shape. Trim the ends if you need to.
  3. Make a small slot through the cardboard base the cup using scissors. Cut a 40-50 loop from thin ribbon, fold it in half to make a loop then push both ends through the slot. Pull down both ends of the ribbon the cup and tie a knot. Tape over the knot inside the cup to hold it securely in place.
  4. Tape the tassels inside the cup so they hang down.
