How to Make

  1. Tear off some 12cm masking tape strips then stick them onto a card wreath to completely cover it. Press the tape over the inside and outside edges, smoothing it down over the card. It takes around 20 strips to cover a wreath.
  2. Paint the wreath purple and leave it to dry. Add a second coat of paint if necessary.
  3. Use a purple paint pen to draw decorative patterns onto the wreath. Leave to dry.
  4. Cut out a silver moon shape (9cm diameter) from silver card. Draw around the moon to make a matching shape then cut it out.
  5. Cut out a star shape (7 cm diameter) from silver card. Draw around the star to make another 5-6 star shapes. Make more stars in smaller different sizes (5cm diameter) to vary the scale, or make bigger stars if you prefer.
  6. Use a purple paint pen to draw decorative patterns onto the moon and stars. Leave to dry.
  7. To hang the moon in the middle of the wreath, brush glue over the reverse (white) side of a card moon, place an 8cm piece of thin ribbon at the top then press the matching moon on top, with the ribbon sandwiched in the middle. Tape or glue the end of the ribbon on the back of the wreath. Check the moon is centrally positioned in the middle of the wreath.
  8. Glue the stars onto the wreath.
  9. Tape a loop of silver ribbon at the top of the wreath, on the reverse side. Hold the wreath with the ribbon loop to check the moon is hanging the middle, if it tips to one side, re-position the hanging loop.
