How to Make

  1. To make the bowl, shape 12 wax squares into a flattened circle, then shape into a bowl. To help make the bowl into a more even shape use a muffin tray; cut a piece of baking paper to line one of the cup moulds, press the wax on top then press down with your fingers, then carefully lift the bowl out of the tin.
  2. Use a wax pen to draw a pattern around the side of the bowl and leave to dry.
  3. To make a pineapple, shape 6 wax squares into an egg shape, press the top and bottom to make the ends flatter. Use modelling tool to make a pattern around the side of the pineapple.
  4. To make a bunch of grapes, shape 1 wax square into a ball for the middle section. Roll about 20 tiny wax grapes, press them to cover the middle then add more grapes so the bunch is wider at the top.
  5. To make an apple with mixed colours, knead 2 x 1/4 wax squares together then shape into a ball, make a hole with a modelling tool at the top then push a small wax stalk inside
  6. To make a pear, shape 1 wax square into a ball then pinch one end to make it thinner. Add a stalk at the top or you could push a short piece of wick inside. Try blending 2 different colours with 2 x ½ squares for a mixed colour on the pear.
  7. Place the wax fruit into the bowl and gently press them together. To fill any gaps, add some extra grapes or smaller pieces of fruit.
  8. Cut a wick 7-8cm in length. Push a cocktail stick through the top of the pineapple to make a hole then push the wick inside. Shorter wicks can be added to the other pieces of fruit.
