How to Make
- To cover the wooden bunting with a single background colour, use smooth even strokes to apply the paint over the surface and around the edges then leave to dry. For a design with 2 background colours, divide the bunting in half or quarters with a pencil and ruler, then brush the paint to cover the wood. Add a second coat if necessary. If the bunting will be seen from both sides, paint on the reverse as well.
- Use self-adhesive felt for making the heraldic designs and patterns. For a striped or chequerboard pattern cut out strips and squares. To make other shapes, draw a pencil outlines onto the felt backing paper before cutting them out. For stars, circles and other motifs use ready cut self-adhesive shapes. Peel off the backing paper and stick the shapes onto the painted wooden bunting into a variety of designs.
- Thread the string through the finished bunting to hang it up.
